Ingredients you will need :
1 can 418G Wild Red Pacific Salmon ( Or whatever you have ) $4.00 ( On sale )
2 small/medium red onions $ 0.50 ( $2 for 5lbs )
1 English cucumber $ 0.75
Renee's Mighty Caesar Salad Dressing ( If not using this one, Id add a clove or two of chopped garlic to the mix) $ 0.75 ( $6 for 750ml )
2 red chili peppers $ 0.10 ( $2.00 for a huge bagful )
Freshly Cracked Black Pepper
Total Cost , Under $7.00 , easily makes enough snacks for 6 people.
Simply empty the tin into a mixing bowl, slice & dice up the onions and half of the cucumber. The other have , cut into slices . approx 1/4" thick. |
Crumble in the hot dried chili, two or three spoonfuls of dressing . |
Grab a spatula , and start mixing . Until its all well blended. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. |
For a really easy appetizer, simply place a spoonful of the salmon spread onto a round of cucumber, a few cracks of black pepper, and your done :)) |
Its really that easy , five minutes prep , and 30 in the fridge has some great munchies ready :) |
Of course , if you happen to have some garlic toast handy , that works very well too :) |
Rich this looks yummy! I've never actually used canned salmon, and this looks a little higher quality than we have on the shelves here. I wonder how much difference that will make? I'm gonna try this! The dressing looks delish too! I'll have to add the garlic since I can't find that brand here. Looking forward to trying this! I'm always looking for good quick apps for receptions and parties! Thanks!!!

ReplyDeleteIts a really nice refreshing dish :) In fact I just made a batch 15 minutes ago, using celery instead of cucumber :) Mmmmm will be perfect just in time for my late night snack :)
