I do prefer roasted potatoes now ... but still have this as a treat once or twice a month, sometimes a little more. Its the only deep fried thing I eat , other than the once a year batch of scotch eggs i make ( coming soon lol ) Another nice way to make those cottage fries is to cook the bacon in the pan first , then use some of the leftover fat to fry your spuds... should be reserved for special treats tho :))Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08191003259843509706noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7372591371436277536.post-15260805891233998342010-12-08T13:50:16.005-05:002010-12-08T13:50:16.005-05:00Hi, Rich, is the "cold" meat with the ho...Hi, Rich, is the "cold" meat with the hot chips a custom from England or Canada? I'm just curious. If I were to do this I would reheat the meat. I didn't mark yummy as I am not a fan of deep fried anything. However, I do cut parboiled or cold baked potatoes just as you demo'ed and fry them in just a bit of oil in my cast iron skillet on the stove top. My grandmother always called this method cottage fries. I don't do it often but we really do like them. :DLindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05315980350142729265noreply@blogger.com
